The first days of spring incite change within my mind. Change invigorates me, motivates me to set things anew and get going. I'm ready to clean up the dreary, dusty, cluttered winter home and change things into a fresh, clean, orderly homeplace.
So, today, I'm cleaning the garage. Though, that is not what I started out to clean. I started yesterday by just moving one chair, which meant I had to move the book shelf in my study in order to have a place for the chair. There was no place for the shelf which I really need, so I cleaned out a closet in order to move the shelf in. After that, I had to figure out where to put all the things that came out of the closet, so I now have a pile in the living room that needs sorting and that will have to happen pretty soon...very unorderly! I needed to move the ladder into the garage, so I took a look out there. Very few uncluttered spaces there. So, in order to find a new place for my chair, I had to clean out the garage.
Now this may seem very circular to you. It is! Right now, things are messy in my study, my garage, and my living room. I'd do it another way, but I just don't know any other way to do it. I'll never change the way my mind thinks, though I might in many ways improve the way my mind approaches these things.
I love that the Lord knows all my ways, even before there is a thought in my mind, He knows it. Therefore, He knew that today I would enjoy this warm sunny early spring day...by cleaning out my garage.
Now, I'm on my way to Lowe's for a new shelf for the garage. Changes are coming!
